Quick Start

  1. Start your account either by using one of the social links which we have given OR register your email address. In either case, you are directly taken into your freshly created account*.

  2. Your account has a simple dashboard which lists out the flaunt files you are working on. When you being the dashboard will be empty (of course)

  3. To create a new flaunt file, first you would have to create the metadata for it. Err...What is metadata? The title, description and other attributes that you set are together called its metadata. You can always edit all of this, (except for the name you chose). Some of the metadata that you have set would be later used when you give the Flaunt File link on social media such as Facebook/Whatsapp/etc. The brand, image, description you wrote all get previewed in such embedded links.

  4. Now that you have created the metadata for a new flaunt file, you now need to add contents to it. That is done by the make link on the right side cell of the row where the flaunt file is listed on your dashboard.

  5. The make link will take you to a new page where a make form is displayed. One critical part of the make process is the Flaunt File secret which you must copy and paste correctly (i.e. for the correct Flaunt File) into the make form from your dashboard. By default, the listing of flaunt files in your dashboard will show only the title of each flaunt file and some stats. There is small arrow to the left of that short description. Click on that; and all the metadata you created for that flaunt file will be displayed.

  6. Make sure that you do NOT share the "secret" for each flaunt file with any unknown person. Treat it as a password you must protect. If you do not, anyone can change your Flaunt File. You can always remake the secret for a Flaunt File (using a link on the right side) if you find that the earlier secret was compromised.

  7. We have created a separate chapter in this documentation explaining how to use that make form.

  8. Note that every new flaunt file you thus create will have some limitations to begin with: You can upload a PDF file with a maximum of 3 pages. And the total audio-time is also limited to 30 seconds. This is done so that you can try out how the new flaunt file is emerging.

  9. Once you are ready to make a full-fledged flaunt, you should first upload the PDF File for it. Specify the audio-files also as instructed. You can choose to upload the files in small sets so that each upload does not take too much time.

  10. Each time you upload the required files the flaunt file is immediately available for viewing. Note that one PDF file for the flaunt file is a must.

  11. You can set the privacy you need as one of the properties of the metadata of the flaunt file. By default it is public -- which means, everyone in the world can see it. And it would get listed in our Flaunt Files gallery (upcoming feature). If the privacy setting is unlisted, then only those who have a link to it would be able to view it. It will not be seen in our gallery. If the privacy is set as private, then only those who get a name+password for it will be able to view that private flaunt file. You can easily create the password for any name you set by clicking on the "private" link displayed in that flaunt file's listing.
